Google rolls out monthly software update for Pixel devices

Google has begun rolling out its January 2026 monthly software update for Pixel devices, continuing its routine release of security patches and system improvements for supported models.

In a notice posted on its official Pixel support forum, Google stated that the update will not be available to all users simultaneously, explaining that the rollout will be gradual.

“Our software update is being released in phases. New features will gradually roll out across all regions,” Google said.

The company noted that the January update includes fixes and improvements designed to maintain device stability and security. While Google did not list detailed feature additions in the announcement, it advised users to install the update as soon as it becomes available.

According to Google’s Android security bulletin for January, the update addresses multiple security vulnerabilities across the Android system and Pixel-specific components.

“We encourage all users to install the latest security update as soon as it becomes available for their device,” the company stated. 

The update covers a wide range of Pixel models, including recent flagships such as the Pixel 8, Pixel 9, and Pixel 10 series, as well as devices like the Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. Users can manually check for the update via Settings > System > Software updates > System update on their devices. 

Users who do not see the update immediately are advised to be patient, as phased releases can take days or weeks to reach every eligible device. Google’s staged rollout is designed to monitor performance and address any emerging issues before full deployment.
