How it works

About five minutes to set up. A person reviews it, then it runs on the date you pick.

    A headline, a line of text, a photo and a link. You see exactly how it will look as you type.

  2. 2. Pick where it runs

    The home feed, the marketplace, search, or only the categories your customers browse.

  3. 3. Choose a package and pay

    Fixed prices in naira, paid by card or transfer through Paystack. VAT is shown before you pay.

  4. 4. We review, then it runs

    A person checks every ad against the policies. Approved ads start on your chosen date and you watch the numbers live.

Pricing

You buy views, not clicks or days. A view counts only when the card was actually on screen — at least half of it, for at least a second — the same standard Google uses. Unused views are kept if you pause.

The rules

Every ad is checked by a person before it runs. Most are approved the same day. The short version:

Fine

  • Products and services you actually sell, at the price on your page
  • Your own Marcatir listings and posts
  • Shops, restaurants, events, services and hiring
  • Links to your website, WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook
  • One clear photo or a short video of the real thing

Not accepted

  • Weapons, drugs, tobacco, vapes and gambling
  • Adult content and escort services
  • Crypto, forex signals and “guaranteed returns”
  • Counterfeits and stolen goods
  • Anything pretending to be from Marcatir
  • Misleading prices, fake urgency or fake reviews

Questions

Can I advertise one of my own listings?

Yes. When you create an ad you can pick one of your posts or listings and we fill in the headline, photo and link for you. You can still change any of it.

What happens after I pay?

Your ad goes into review. You get a notification when it is approved (or if it needs a change), and it starts on your chosen date. Until then nothing is shown.

How do I know it ran?

Your ad page shows views and clicks as they happen, a day-by-day chart, and which feeds they came from. Views only count when the card was genuinely on screen.

Can I stop it early?

You can pause any time and keep your remaining views for later, or end it. Ending early does not refund unused views, so pause unless you are sure.

Will people know it is an ad?

Yes — every card carries a “Sponsored” label. It is the law in most places and it is also why readers trust the feed enough to click.
