Ad Policies

These rules apply to every sponsored card booked on Marcatir. Read them before you book — rejected ads can be fixed and resubmitted free, but it is faster to get it right first time.

Last updated

  • A person reviews every ad

Normally within one working day. Nothing is shown until it is approved.

  • Rejected? Fix it for free

You get the reason, and can edit and resubmit as often as you need.

  • Or take a full refund

Back to the card or account it came from, normally within 5–10 working days.

1What these policies cover

These policies apply to every sponsored card booked through the self-service tool, to the page it links to, and to the account that booked it. They sit alongside the Terms of Service and User Agreement; where they are stricter, they win.

Every ad is reviewed by a person before it runs and may be re-reviewed at any time while it runs. Approval means the ad met these policies when we looked at it, not that we endorse the product.

2Be honest

Readers should get what the card promised.

  • The headline, text and image must describe what is actually on the landing page. A card for shoes that opens a page selling data plans is rejected.
  • Prices in the ad must be the prices on the page, including any delivery or service fee that applies to everyone.
  • No fake scarcity or urgency: “only 2 left” and “offer ends tonight” must be true.
  • No claims of guaranteed income, guaranteed returns, guaranteed weight loss, or “risk-free” anything.
  • Do not imitate the site: no “Marcatir official”, no cards styled to look like a system notice, no “your account needs attention”.
  • Before-and-after images, testimonials and ratings must be genuine and yours to use.

3What we do not accept

Some categories are not accepted at all, whatever the wording.

  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, and accessories for them.
  • Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medicines sold without a licence.
  • Tobacco, vapes, shisha and nicotine products.
  • Gambling, betting, lotteries and “investment clubs” or forex signals without a visible regulator licence.
  • Adult content, escort or “companionship” services, and dating that is sexual in nature.
  • Counterfeits, replicas sold as genuine, and stolen or “lost” goods.
  • Loans and credit products that do not show the full cost of borrowing on the landing page.
  • Cryptocurrency exchanges, tokens, mining and “airdrops”.
  • Political campaigns and issue advocacy.
  • Anything that discriminates against, harasses or demeans people by ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
  • Malware, phishing, “free gift card” pages, and anything that asks the reader for a password or a one-time code.

4Accepted with conditions

These are fine when the conditions are met and are rejected when they are not.

  • Alcohol: no imagery of minors or of drinking while driving; the landing page must not sell to under-18s.
  • Health and beauty products: no medical claims (“cures”, “treats”, “clinically proven”) unless the landing page shows the approval reference.
  • Financial services: the provider’s licence or registration must be visible on the landing page.
  • Recruitment and training: no fees to apply, and the employer or school must be named.
  • Real estate: the ad must say whether the property is for rent or sale and give a real location.

5Creative standards

The card sits between people’s posts, so it should behave like a good post.

  • One clear image or a short video of the actual product or service. No stock photos of unrelated people, no screenshots of chats, no images that are mostly text.
  • No flashing, strobing or rapidly cutting video.
  • Correct spelling, no ALL-CAPS headlines, no excessive punctuation (“!!!”, “???”).
  • No fake buttons, play icons or form fields drawn into the image.
  • Nothing that is or resembles a QR code, a phone number or a bank account number in the image; put contact details on the landing page.
  • The advertiser name must be the real name of the business or person. Not “Admin”, not another company’s name.

6The page you link to

We open the link during review, on a phone, and expect:

  • It loads over https and works without asking to install anything.
  • It is the page the ad describes, not a redirect chain, a login wall or an app-store interstitial.
  • It says who runs it and how to contact them.
  • It does not open pop-ups, auto-play sound, or trap the back button.
  • WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook links are fine. Links to another Marcatir post or listing are fine and are checked against that post’s own rules.

7Data and tracking

You receive counts of views and clicks. You do not receive who saw or clicked, and you may not try to work it out. You may add UTM parameters to your link. You may not add tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts or third-party ad tags to the creative — there is nowhere to put them, and attempting to is grounds for account suspension.

8Review, rejection and refunds

You pay when you book. Your ad is then reviewed, normally within one working day. Nothing is shown until it is approved.

If it is rejected you receive the reason. You can edit and resubmit as many times as you need at no extra cost. If you would rather not, ask for a refund from the ad’s page and the full amount is returned to the card or account it came from, normally within 5–10 working days.

An approved ad that later turns out to breach these policies — for example the landing page changed — is paused, you are told why, and the remaining views are kept for a corrected version. Repeated or deliberate breaches end the campaign without refund and may close the account.

Pausing keeps your remaining views indefinitely. Ending a running campaign yourself forfeits any unused views.

9Changes to these policies

We update these policies as the law and the site change. The date at the top is the version you agreed to when you booked; the current version applies to new bookings and to any ad we re-review.

Questions about a specific ad?

Reply to the review notification and a person will answer. For everything else, the advertising page has the prices and the steps.
