I have noticed a very disturbing online trend involving trailer and "Luxurious bus" drivers/conductors/spare drivers making videos while on the move.. These articulated trucks and buses already have high maneuverability risks even when the driver is fully focused...A day hardly passes in this country without one of them being involved in an accident, with such accidents mostly fatal with multiple casualties...
To add salt to injury, some of these drivers have decided to make online $$ leven while at the wheel...They make videos while they are driving ostensibly to promote their craft, company or both... While adverts are tolerable, making such adverts while at the wheel pose a very serious traffic risk....When these drivers are supposed to be 100% fixated on the road, checking blind spots, calculating braking distance, turning radius and other things that are very paramount for safe road use by these large vehicles, they are making videos of them driving, hailing each other while on the move, etc. Just recently one of such drivers had an accident, and even posted videos on Facebook showing damage to his vehicle due to the accident, expecting sympathy from viewers If these videos are those of a dashcam installed in the vehicle, that would be very ok...
Dashcam as used abroad help monitor the driver and also provide real time road footage to determine cause of accidents...But what these our people are doing isn't dashcam videos, but outright mobile phone manual footage, sometimes even with selfies Government has to step in before this matter gets out of hand, while other road users have to be extra vigilant around these trucks and buses.. Make driver recording video for Zuckerberg's dollars no go kill pesin troway.
