Crazy Traffic From Iyana-Oworo To Berger Yesterday - What Exactly Happened?

Who else experienced the crazy traffic around Iyana-Oworo, Ojota, Berger and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway yesterday? I was travelling yesterday and spent over four hours just trying to get to Ikeja. At some point, I had to turn off around 7UP and try the Secretariat/Alausa route, thinking I would escape the traffic. That side was also seriously blocked because many other motorists were apparently trying the same alternative routes, while some still needed to connect back to the expressway.

It was crazy. I later found out that the major problem was around Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Repair work is already ongoing on the bridge, with some lanes restricted. Then yesterday, accidents involving heavy vehicles around the Kara axis made an already bad situation much worse. The traffic eventually stretched through Berger and reportedly as far back as Iyana-Oworo, also affecting traffic coming from the Third Mainland Bridge.

Reports this morning say some motorists were trapped in the gridlock for several hours. The Kara Bridge repair itself is expected to continue until September 22, so people who regularly use that route may need to plan their movements carefully for now. I am also hearing that the traffic is still bad today and that some ride-hailing drivers are already cancelling trips around the affected areas.

I haven't independently confirmed that part yet. Who else experienced yesterday's traffic? How many hours did you spend on the road? And for those around Berger/Kara today, what is the current situation?
