The OP promises the most intriguing love story ever read - second only to the story of Jesus - arguing the truth (only learnt last year) about Jacob and Rachel. Like many Christians, he used to blame Rachel for stealing her father Laban's idols when escaping with Jacob; some even judge that she deserved to die from Jacob's unintentional curse (Genesis 31:32) and is in hellfire for loving and secretly worshipping the idols.
He asks readers to comment: did Jacob make a mistake serving another 7 solid years to marry a "God-hating idolatrous lady"? Shouldn't Leah have been perfect for him? He quotes Genesis 31:32-37 (Rachel hiding the images in the camel's furniture and lying that the custom of women was upon her). [In the concluding post in the thread he reveals the "complete account" from the Book of Jashar 31:42-44 - one of the books removed from the Bible: Rachel knew how effective her father's idols were - especially the one made with a human head that spoke, telling Laban things he wished to know - and she stole them so Laban could not divine where Jacob had gone, "in order that Laban might not know through them where Jacob had gone" - an act of immeasurable love and self-risking protection of her husband, vindicating her.]
