Biography Francisco Muniz IV was born on December 5, 1985 in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, as the child of Denise, a nurse, and Francisco Muñiz III, a restaurateur. His mother has both Irish and Italian ancestry, whereas his father is of Puerto Rican origin, his roots being Spanish and coming from Asturias. He has a sister who is named Cristina. Muniz was in his fourth year when his family relocated to Knightdale, in North Carolina, and it was there that he grew up.
He was spotted when he was eight years old at a talent show in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he was playing the role of Tiny Tim in a local performance of A Christmas Carol. His parents then got divorced and he moved afterwards with his mother to Burbank, in California. From the sixth grade on, he was taught at home by his mother. Personal life Muniz is a fan of the Arizona Cardinals and also follows the Los Angeles Clippers; it is said that he supports the English football team Coventry City, a link which seems to have arisen from a friendship he formed with a producer during the making of the film Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London.
In 2005 Muniz was engaged to Jamie Gandy; in 2008 he met the publicist Elycia Marie Turnbow at a gym in Los Angeles through their mutual personal trainer. The two started dating and then moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. There was a domestic argument in February 2011 which involved the police and during which Muniz is said to have pointed a gun at his own head, although he later described this as a “fake overblown story”.
They got engaged in October 2011 but eventually called off the engagement. In 2016 Muniz started a relationship with the actress and model Paige Price and on November 18, 2018 he announced that they were engaged. They got married on October 3, 2019 and their son was born on March 22, 2021. On July 1, 2026 Muniz declared in a post on X that he and Paige were separating and that they were proceeding with a divorce.
Health problems Muniz was admitted to hospital on November 30, 2012, at the age of 26 following a suspected transient ischemic attack and later talked about it on Katie. He was diagnosed with a second attack on November 25, 2013, a year later. When his health was queried in October 2017, he stated that he had not been experiencing any problems. In that same month, it was claimed on Dancing with the Stars that he had suffered from severe amnesia, which was theorised to be at least partly caused by several concussions; Muniz suggested that he could not recall most of his time on Malcolm in the Middle and that his former co-star Bryan Cranston would often call him to remind him of the good times they had.
In 2021, while appearing as a guest on the Steve-O’s Wild Ride! podcast, Muniz stated that the mini-strokes had been a misdiagnosis and that in fact he had been suffering from migraine auras. During the same podcast he explained that the accounts of his amnesia were false and that they were based on a single, off-the-cuff remark: “Man, I don’t remember what happened in 2001.” The individual gaps in his memory were the result of having suffered a large number of concussions when he was a teenager.
Career Highlights He became well known around the world for his performance as the main character in the successful Fox situation comedy Malcolm in the Middle (2000–2006), for which he received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. He also appeared in feature films such as Big Fat Liar (2002) and Agent Cody Banks (2003). Having moved on from doing acting full-time, he became a professional race car driver.
He took part in the Atlantic Championship and then turned to stock-car racing, driving in the ARCA Menards Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Net Worth Frankie Muniz’s net worth is estimated to be between $35 million and $40 million.
