The Rt Hon Boniface S Emerengwa ,Esq, DSSRS. Mourns the fallen of an Ancestral Iroko in Etche kingdom
‘A Great Silence has fallen upon our hearts’ On behalf of my immediate family, constituents and my humble self, I sincerely express my condolence over the passing of a Patriarch Late Ochie of Etche Land and Paramount Ruler of Etche Ethnic Nationality His Royal Majesty Eze E.N.B. Opurum, Jp DSSRS, MHR.
The late Ochie, Patriarch and Paramount Ruler was a very close friend and associate of our late father Late Chief Paul N. Emerengwa who was then the Traditional prime minister of Igwuruta town council of Chiefs during the reign of His Majesty Eze BW Olocha of Igwuruta.Upon the demise of our late father the Ochie extended same love and affection he shared with our late father to the Emerengwa Extraction.
The Mutual bond was sustained and extended to the descendants of Late Chief Paul N. Emerengwa until his last breath. As we mourn not only a father, pillar and leader, but a soul whose presence gave comfort, strength, wisdom and light to so many, in the passing of our Patriarch and Paramount Ruler, we have lost a guide, Custodian of our culture and heritage, wisdom and guiding Angel.
There are some people whose lives, become woven into the spirits of a community so completely that imagining tomorrow without them seems impossible. The Ochie was one of those rare soul. He stood where others hesitated. He lifted burdens quietly and unnoticed. He gave himself generously, often without, notice and recognition, and left finger prints of kindness on countless lives.
Adieu!, His Royal Highness Eze E.N.B. Opurum JP. DSSRS MHR. For as the Holy Bible says there is a beginning and end, wealth fades, wisdom fades, titles disappear and earthly accomplishment pass away; but the goodness we sow into people endures. The lives we lift. The hope we inspire, the integrity we uphold and the kindness we give becomes the true monuments by which we are remembered. Goodnight the Patriarch
