Maureen Idehen-ovabor Foundation Begins Welcome-back Project, Distributes School

The Maureen Idehen-Ovabor Foundation has commenced its Welcome-Back Project, an initiative aimed at supporting children as they return to school by providing school bags, books and other essential learning materials.

The initiative began with the distribution of welcome-back packs to participants of the second edition of the Bosede Idehen 5-A-Side Football Competition, following the foundation’s commitment to extend its support beyond sporting activities.

As part of the project, the foundation is also planning community outreach visits to provide school bags, books and educational materials to children whose parents may struggle to meet the financial demands of a new academic session.

The planned outreach is expected to cover selected public schools and other locations within the community, with the foundation seeking to identify children who require additional educational support.

The Welcome-Back Project builds on the foundation’s broader focus on education, youth development, grassroots sports and community empowerment. The organisation has increasingly used sporting activities, particularly the Bosede Idehen 5-A-Side competition, as a platform to promote teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and opportunities for young people.

The second edition of the Bosede Idehen 5-A-Side competition recently concluded, with Josab School emerging as champions, while Dee Unique School finished second and Bosede Idehen International Academy (BIIA) placed third.

Beyond the football tournament, the foundation has continued to emphasise education and practical support for young people, reflecting its stated commitment to helping children and youths develop the skills and opportunities they need for the future.

The Welcome-Back Project is therefore positioned as another phase of the foundation’s community-focused activities, with the distribution of educational materials expected to reach more children as the new academic session progresses.

The specific Welcome-Back distribution and planned school outreach are part of the foundation’s current initiative. At the same time, publicly reported activities have previously documented its involvement in grassroots sports, education and youth development.
