(iexclusivenews)—Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire and his estranged wife Jennifer Meyer have reached an agreement to dissolve their marriage, nearly six years after Meyer filed for divorce.
This online news outlet learned that Maguire and Meyer agreed to restore their legal status as single people, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The agreement still requires a judge’s approval before the divorce can be formally finalized.
The couple separated in 2016 after nine years of marriage. Meyer filed for divorce in October 2020, but the case remained unresolved for years.
Although the pair have reached an agreement to end their marriage, their full settlement covering assets and other outstanding matters has not yet been completed.
The former couple has agreed to appoint a private judge to handle disputes as they work through the remaining issues in the case, according to the court documents.
Maguire responded formally to the divorce proceedings in 2025, seeking joint legal and physical custody of their son, Otis.
He also asked for child support and spousal support issues to be handled through private mediation and cited the couple's prenuptial agreement.
The couple also have a daughter, Ruby, who is now an adult.
Tobey Maguire and Meyer maintain close relationship
Despite their lengthy divorce proceedings, Maguire and Meyer have maintained an amicable relationship and continued to co-parent their children.
Meyer has previously described Maguire as her “best friend” and praised their relationship after divorce. The two have also been seen together at public events and family gatherings.
