Music star Davido has quizzed billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote over his Dangote share sales. Kemi Filani reported that Dangote had unveiled his Dangote billboard in Times Square, New York, with Davido and others in attendance. In a video from the event, Davido quizzed Africa’s richest man on why people should buy Dangote shares. Responding, Dangote said it is a way to spread prosperity and wealth across Africa.

In the video, Burna prostrated to greet him, shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. Davido and his family share a close relationship with Dangote, who has been their family friend for decades. In an interview with Forbes, Davido disclosed that Dangote buys two cars every eight years. He spoke about his family’s relationship with Dangote, adding that Dangote always advised him to save money whenever they met.
In 2021, Davido said Dangote hadn’t bought a car in the last ten years. Speaking in a chat with the Earn Your Leisure podcast, the ‘Jowo’ crooner said the billionaire was living a normal life. On the financial advice Dangote had ever given him, Davido said he told him to save his money. The philanthropic artiste also stated that Dangote drove him from the hospital when he was born.
Last year, the singer shared a throwback photo of himself and Dangote. In the picture, you can see a younger Davido posing beside his father and Dangote. The next photo that Davido shared featured his late mother, posing with his father, alongside Dangote and another person. In a Twitter exchange, a user named Damilola raised eyebrows by questioning why Dangote doesn’t own a private jet while Davido boasts two.
Expressing her disbelief, she highlighted the apparent absurdity of the situation, sparking reactions from netizens. One user, Olakush, questioned Davido’s ownership of two private jets. In contrast, another user suggested Davido might not even own one, arguing that the jet in question belongs to his father. On a different note, Obi Mola made a bold claim, saying Davido is richer than Dangote, while another argued their careers differ: Davido needs a lavish lifestyle to boost his music career, while Dangote, as a businessman, prioritises investments that increase his net worth.
