Prince Chibuzor Nwachimelueze, Nollywood actress Evan Okoro’s husband, has reacted days after her public apology to him. Kemi Filani reported a week ago that Evan shocked many when she apologised to her ex-husband after months of highly publicised social media drama. She admitted to saying hurtful things during their separation and clarified that the apology was for peace of mind, and not reconciliation.

Sharing a loved-up video of them at a restaurant, he described her as his partner, safe place, and the person he values the most.
He said he is ashamed of taking her for granted or letting her flaws overshadow their love. Taking full responsibility for his mistake, he said Evan deserves unwavering respect, gentleness, and care every single day, and he is committed to starting that. “My dearest & beautiful wife, I’m writing this message because my heart is heavy with regret for the pain I have caused you…it hurt me deeply to know I’m the reason for the shadow in your eyes.
You are my partner, my safe place, and the person I value most in this world. Taking you for granted, or letting my flaws overshadow our love, is something I’m truly ashamed of…I take full responsibility for my mistakes. You deserve to be treated with unwavering respect, gentleness, and care every single day, and I’m committed to starting the inner work to be the husband you deserve…I don’t expect things to heal themselves overnight.

Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last long as the movie star accused him of abusing her.
Okoro alleged that her husband was abusive and had threatened her life. She even filed a police petition, describing the marriage as abusive. She also cited unpaid bride price and financial disputes as major issues, stating she built her house before the marriage. The actress had also described the marriage as a mistake, saying the union was built on shaky ground from the start.
She further alleged that he became controlling over her finances, particularly after a business trip to Lagos, and that he turned violent when she refused to hand over her earnings. In other news, in 2024, Evan cried out for help after the Delta State government demolished her house and investments. She appealed to the Governor to do something about the demolition, noting that she was a struggling, hardworking lady trying to earn a living in his state, Asaba.
In another post, she questioned her Maker, stressing how hard she worked for her money. Counting her losses, she revealed that her fish farm, house and plantation are all gone. It was a challenging time for the actress as she had expressed heartbreak as she laid a heavy curse on the thieves who broke into her mother’s new house. Taking to her Instagram page to vent, she revealed that the thieves had carted away all her mother’s valuables and money.
The robbery came just one month after Evan had gifted her mother a new house to celebrate Easter. She had shared clips of the newly furnished house, noting how she doesn’t have a house of her own but was glad her mother has one. She recounted her ordeals before God changed their story and granted her greatest wish.
