“Touch not my anointed applies only when you are falsely accused” – Mary Njoku schools Christians for weaponising scriptures

Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has lashed out at Christians who are fond of weaponising scriptures. In a social media post, she explained that “touch not” only applies when someone is falsely accused, lied against, and deliberately targeted. She said it doesn’t apply when one brings consequences upon themselves through their own words or actions. According to her, weaponising the scriptures against the truth can backfire.

Njoku noted that no one is perfect, even men of God, and as such, one should cut themselves slack, take responsibility, and allow others the grace one would want for themselves. “When someone gives an accurate account of what you said or did publicly, and it’s causing you harm. Brethren, the problem isn’t the storyteller. The problem is what you said or did. Take responsibility for it.

Own your words. Own your actions. Reflect on them, apologise if necessary, explain yourself if there is context, and move on. Touch not my anointed applies when someone falsely accuses you, lies against you, or deliberately tries to harm you. It doesn’t apply when you bring the consequences upon yourself through your own words or actions. Weaponising scripture against the truth can backfire.

Nobody is perfect. After all, men of God are still human. They aren’t above making mistakes or being held accountable. They deserve grace and understanding, just like everyone else. So cut yourself some slack, take responsibility when necessary, and allow others the same grace you would want for yourself”. A few weeks ago, Jason Njoku’s wife said she woke up with a new calling: to be a voice, destiny helper, and prayer for good people.

She explained that she wants to be their eyes when nobody is looking, their loudspeaker when nobody is listening, and their microphone when they don’t have a platform. While sharing a message on disappointment, she said sometimes it is actually God’s way of leading us to something far better. Njoku wrote a heartfelt note to her Maker, expressing gratitude, appreciating Him for carrying her through every season, for every breath, every lesson, every victory, and every setback.

Some time back, she had sent a message to the public urging them not to be ungrateful when God sends one a helper. Mary warned them against turning divine assistance into a subscription. In a previous post, she advised the public against praying for people God is trying to punish. She told them to be wary of who they pray for, as sometimes one is trying to bless someone God is trying to punish.

She admonished them to be wise and discerning, as not every struggle is a battle they’re meant to fight. Mary Njoku had shared a word of wisdom against pressure. She noted that when one has some fame or a little money, the world suddenly starts telling them how they should live their life. Njoku advised against listening to them, noting that the same people will turn on one when everything goes wrong and the lights go out.
