Sometimes life becomes so difficult that we begin to wonder:
“Where is Allah?”
You make duʿā, but the problem remains.
You work hard, but things don't improve.
You try to find a way forward, but every door seems closed.
But difficulty does not mean Allah has abandoned you.
Look at the Battle of Khandaq.
The Muslims in Madinah found themselves surrounded by a huge coalition of enemies. They were outnumbered, frightened and under enormous pressure.
The Qur'an describes their condition:
“When they came upon you from above you and from below you, when eyes became terrified and hearts reached the throats, and you began to have various thoughts about Allah.” Qur'an 33:10
Imagine being there.
Fear everywhere.
The enemy surrounding you.
Resources were limited.
And yet, the believers did not abandon Allah.
They remained patient, worked, planned and trusted their Lord.
Then Allah says:
“And Allah turned back those who disbelieved in their rage, having gained no good. And Allah spared the believers from fighting.” Qur'an 33:25
The situation looked impossible.
But Allah was never absent.
Sometimes we make the mistake of thinking:
“If Allah loves me, I shouldn't have problems.”
But the lives of the prophets and the righteous teach us otherwise.
Being tested does not mean being abandoned.
Being delayed does not mean being forgotten.
Having difficulties does not mean Allah is against you.
Sometimes Allah allows you to reach the point where you realise that your strength is limited and His power is unlimited.
So if life is difficult for you right now, don't conclude that Allah has forgotten you.
Keep praying. Keep working. Keep doing what is right. Keep trusting Allah.
The battle may be difficult.
The road may be long.
But Allah knows exactly where you are.
May Allah strengthen us when we are tested, give us patience when things become difficult, and grant us relief from places we never expect.
آمين.
