INEC uploads NDC approved logo after court order

The statement thanked the judiciary, INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan and officials of the commission for complying with the court judgment. “Congratulations to the entire leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress and to all Nigerians, as INEC has uploaded our preferred and approved party logo, in compliance with the order of the High Court,” the statement said.

The party also commended its National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, members of the NEC, candidates and party members for their roles during the dispute.

According to the NDC, the development means its candidates can now proceed with printing campaign materials and continue their campaigns using the approved logo. “Our approved logo has now been uploaded, and candidates can print campaign materials and continue their consultations and campaigns with certainty,” the statement added.

The party said it had resisted attempts by unnamed individuals to use the judiciary against it and vowed to continue defending its political interests.

“We are fighters, and we will fight until the end. We have resisted those who sought to use the judiciary against the party, and they have failed,” it said.

The NDC also cautioned its candidates against what it described as “self-sabotage,” urging them to work closely with the party leadership when constituting campaign teams. It further called on members to resist propaganda, misinformation and rumours capable of creating divisions within the party.

The party said it remained committed to multi-party democracy and ensuring that its candidates were able to campaign across the country without intimidation.
