Movie Critic Tolu Fagbure Explains Why Actress Tayo Sobola Cannot Be Cast in Certain Roles

Controversial Nigerian movie critic Tolu Fagbure has explained why actress Tayo Sobola, popularly known as Sotayogaga, cannot be cast in certain movie roles. He said the actress has “lost her place in acting” because of the permanent tattoo on her arm, which he believes limits the kind of characters she can convincingly portray. Speaking during an interview with Dele Adeyanju on Agbaletu TV, he said the tattoo makes it difficult to cast her as a “responsible housewife or child” in films.

He said: “Tayo Sobola should be trained. That lady is trainable. In my own opinion, I think she has lost her place in acting because of the permanent tattoo on her arm and she would insist on wearing dresses that expose the tattoo. And you will tell me that is a responsible housewife?” He added that professional training is essential for actors, stressing that performers should avoid permanent body markings that cannot be removed for roles.

“So, will you cast her as a responsible housewife or child? This is lack of training. As an actor, you’re not supposed to have body markings, body piercings or permanent features on your body. You’re not supposed to have anything that cannot be removed from you for a movie role.” Well at least she can be cast as a beautiful woman!!!
