If you've been seeing Lagos Life all over Twitter/X and other social platforms, you may be wondering what exactly people are playing.
It is a Nigerian life-simulation game where players can create characters, get jobs, earn virtual money, explore a virtual Lagos and interact with other players.
What caught my attention is not just the game itself.
It is the speed at which people are discovering it and talking about it. It has 2 Million Plus users in 5 days, More Than $45,000 Made injust 4 days according to the developer and still growing.
There may be an important lesson here for Nigerian developers:
People don't always want another copy of something popular. Sometimes they want to see their own reality represented in a way they can interact with.
I put together a detailed guide covering:
- What Lagos Life is
- How to start playing
- What you can do inside the game
- How the virtual economy works
- Lagos Life vs The Sims
- Why the game is going viral
- What developers and creators can learn from it
