Jane Osigwe’s Morocco fight and the racism she faced
Nigerian MMA fighter Jane “The Slayer” Osigwe travelled to Casablanca, Morocco, for the Professional Fighters League (PFL) Africa event on 10 October 2026. In a video recorded before the fight, she described a racist incident she experienced upon arrival:
“Finally I am in Morocco for a fight and finally I met a racist, or bully. He came to my front and he spat at me and he went to sit down and he was looking at me as if he wants to beat me.”
She went on to say that the bullying is real.
Despite the hostile encounter, Osigwe stepped into the cage at the Mohammed V Sports Complex and faced Moroccan fighter Sanaa Mandar in a catchweight bout. After three rounds, the judges awarded her a unanimous decision victory (scores: 29-28, 29-28, 29-27).
The win marked a clear response to the racism she had just endured — defeating her opponent on home soil in front of a Moroccan crowd.
