Relax, don't panic yet. Most Nigerians don't know what this word really means. š When you send money, it goes from your bank, through NIBSS (the system that connects all Nigerian banks), to the receiver's bank. The receiver's bank is meant to send a reply saying "Received." "Pending" simply means that reply hasn't come back yet. It doesn't mean the money is lost. What usually happens next: ā The transfer goes through, or š The money is returned to your account, usually within 24 hours.
What to do: 1ļøā£ Don't send the money again, because you may pay twice 2ļøā£ Check your balance and SMS or email alerts 3ļøā£ Wait a few hours before you complain 4ļøā£ Save the session ID and a screenshot of the transaction 5ļøā£ Still nothing after 24 hours? Contact your bank with those details š” Pro tip: The session ID is like your transaction's fingerprint. It's what the bank uses to trace your money.
