Many people think jobs are only doctors, engineers, bankers, teachers and businessmen. But around the world, culture, history and environment have created some very unusual professions.

Some of these jobs may sound funny, but people actually make a living from them.

Here are 10 examples:

1. Train Pushers (Oshiya) – Japan Have you ever wondered how Japanese trains manage to carry so many people during rush hour?

In some busy train stations in Japan, there are workers called Oshiya whose job is to help push passengers into crowded trains so the doors can close safely.

The job became popular because of Japan's extremely busy train system.

2. Dabbawala – India In Mumbai, India, thousands of workers deliver homemade meals from people's homes to their workplaces every day.

3. Jeepney Barker – Philippines The Philippines has a popular public transport system called Jeepneys. These colourful vehicles carry passengers across cities and towns.

A Jeepney Barker is someone who stands near jeepney routes and terminals, calling out destinations, attracting passengers, and helping drivers fill their vehicles before departure.

Many Nigerians may compare this role to an Agbero, because both are connected to informal transport systems and both may call passengers to enter vehicles.

However, they are not exactly the same.

A Jeepney Barker's main duty is usually to announce routes and help jeepney drivers get passengers.

An Agbero in Nigeria has a wider role. Apart from calling passengers, many are involved in motor park organisation, transport coordination, union activities, and sometimes collection of transport-related fees.

So, while they look similar because they both work around public transportation, the structure, responsibilities and culture behind the roles are different.

Truck decoration has become a major part of Pakistani identity.

It is one of the most dangerous traditional occupations in the world.
