The solicitors of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo have responded to wild claims by her rival, Lizzy Anjorin. Lizzy, in a social media post, alleged that Iyabo was linked to the death of singer Mohbad, laid accusations on her personal relationships, and made claims concerning the marriage of Senator Ned Nwoko. She also alleged that Ojo and her daughter, Priscilla, operated a network of over 100 bloggers under their control, purportedly used to target and harass Lizzy.
Responding, Iyabo’s lawyer rejected these allegations and challenged Lizzy to substantiate her claims. They disclosed that a matter involving Lizzy is before the Lagos High Court, with legal documents reportedly exchanged between the parties. They also accused Lizzy of disregarding a court order restraining her from publishing or mentioning certain members of Iyabo’s family. Iyabo’s legal team claimed that Lizzy made threats against Iyabo’s one-year-old grandchild, Rakeem.
Through her lawyers, Iyabo said she would ensure Lizzy presents evidence in court to support her claims. After being defamed by Lizzy following her appearance at Soso Soberekon’s wedding, Priscilla had taken legal action against her. Thr the High Court of Lagos State granted an interim order restraining Lizzy from publishing, posting, circulating, uploading or broadcasting pictures of Priscilla and Juma Jux’s son, Rakeem Mkambala, on her social media platforms.
Reacting to it, Lizzy, in a lIve video, said it’s dead on arrival for Priscilla to post a court letter on her social media before serving the accused person. In May, Iyabo had challenged Lizzy, to a boxing fight. Sharing a video of her practising, Ojo called on billionaire E-Money and music executive, Soso Soberekon, to sponsor their match. Responding to her, Lizzy accepted the challenge, calling Iyabo a certified failed actress with zero achievements.
In another post, she took a swipe at Iyabo’s partner, Paulo for demanding that she and Iyabo settle their beef with a boxing match. She demanded that he fight 10 rounds nonstop in the ring, like her husband. Earlier in the year, Lizzy, accused Iyabo of having a hand in the death of singer, Destiny Boy. Seemingly responding to her, Iyabo told her fans to let the actress be, saying Lizzy needs help and medical treatment.
She expressed disappointment that Lizzy’s husband hadn’t learned enough to take her to a mental home. Recall that for over two years, Iyabo and Lizzy have been at war. Iyabo had shared a video where she was mimicking and mocking Lizzy humorously. Lizzy, who was offended went on to reveal some intimate details about Iyabo, accusing her of promiscuity. Following the allegation, Iyabo threatened legal action against Lizzy, demanding a public apology or risk paying N500 million for her libellous publication.
In 2024, a Lagos court had dismissed the N1billion defamatory lawsuit Iyabo filed against Lizzy. Lizzy reacted to the news by slamming Iyabo.
