If you're building in Lagos this August, here are some current prices I've been able to cross-check. One thing to bear in mind: construction material prices are not fixed. The supplier, quantity, brand, specification, delivery location and buying conditions can all change the final price. Cement — 50kg: ₦12,500 – ₦15,000 (current Lagos retail range reported by recent market reporting) Iron rod — 12m bar equivalent (calculated from current per-tonne prices for different TMT brands; actual shop prices can be different) 12mm TMT: approximately ₦11,100 – ₦14,500/bar 16mm TMT: approximately ₦19,700 – ₦25,800/bar 20mm TMT: approximately ₦30,800 – ₦40,200/bar 25mm TMT: approximately ₦48,100 – ₦62,900/bar Granite / Chippings: 30-ton Lagos delivery: approximately ₦810,000 – ₦860,000 (current supplier listing covers 1", ¾" and ½" granite, with delivery within Lagos) Don't use one internet price to decide whether your contractor is overcharging you.
