Six Questions About God And Hell
(1) If God is everywhere, is He also in hell with the evil people? God is indeed everywhere including hell, but He is not there WITH the evil ones - He is there AGAINST them: the aspect of God found in hell is without light, mercy, grace or goodness (Psalm 36:5-6 - mercy dwells in heaven; judgments in the deep); the only time His goodness entered hell was when Christ descended there in death.
(2) How is a world begun in shadow consistent with a wholly good God? The good God has a good shadow under which the world may abide safely (Psalm 91:1). (3) Why would a loving God invent a place of endless torment? In love He gathers all torments into that one place so there will be no more torment anywhere else.
(4) Is punishing finite sins with infinite pain just or cruel? No sin is finite if its wages is death; every offence is infinite unless love, mercy, justice or forgiveness nullifies it; even a cruel design can be just, since it is a sentence in death where no days measure duration.
(5) If God foreknew who would end in hell, why make them? Why prepare food you know will end in the pit? Adam and Eve could have kept everyone from hell by avoiding one tree; to stop making humans because they might end in hell would end the human race.
The only remedies are the Second Adam as Savior, and the ending of the world. (6) Would mercy not spare them? Mercy did and does spare us - but many do not believe what God foresaw nor regard the mercy He sent; mercy without faith could not save them.
