All thanks and adoration are due to Allah, the Lord and Sustainer of the world; He alone is worthy of worship and Muhammad is His messenger. In Islam there is Qadr, fate - nothing is more certain than what Allah has ordained for one's life. Yet there are prayers that can alter and even fast-track what has been written: the Prophet narrated three men who prayed their way out of a sealed cave using their most sincere good deeds, and Prophet Ayyub, whose illness lifted after his prayer; prayer moves what seems fixed.
Then there is tomorrow - it always seems pregnant but never gives birth; it may look promising yet remains unpromised. Moving to Lagos or Abuja will not automatically solve the problem, and crossing the border out of Nigeria may not be the answer - breaking even runs deeper than geography, deeper than hard work, deeper than luck. But I plan for tomorrow, work hard and pray fervently, believing it has been granted already, because Allah knows what tomorrow carries and gives bountifully until we are satisfied. Allah ya sa mu dace!
