In a profound endorsement of slave trading and racism, a prophet exchanges two black slaves for an Arab slave - thus slavery is allowed as a legal form of commerce in Islam till today. How do we explain this? "There came a slave and pledged allegiance to Allah's Apostle on migration; he did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah's Apostle said: Sell him to me.
And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man)." (Sahih Muslim 1602, sunnah.com/muslim:1602)
