Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk has been acquitted of all charges in his federal murder-for-hire trial in Los Angeles. A federal jury found Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, not guilty of charges connected to a 2022 shooting targeting rapper Quando Rondo. The attack resulted in the death of Rondo's cousin, Saviay'a Robinson. But here's the surprising part: Lil Durk is still behind bars.
Despite being cleared of the murder-for-hire case, Durk remains in federal custody because he faces another federal trial involving racketeering and weapons-related allegations, scheduled for October 5, 2026. Durk has been in custody since his 2024 arrest. The acquittal is nevertheless a major legal victory for the rapper; prosecutors had accused him of arranging the attack as revenge for the 2020 killing of his close friend and fellow rapper King Von.
Durk's defense denied the allegations and challenged the testimony of cooperating witnesses. Two co-defendants were also acquitted of the murder-for-hire charges but were convicted of separate stalking-related offenses. Source: dobblog.online
