The Nigerian striker scored a hat-trick for Amedspor against Istanbul Basaksehir, taking his Turkish league tally to 6 goals in just 5 matches. And here is where it gets interesting. Orban has now matched Victor Osimhen's 6 league goals in Turkey. Osimhen got his six goals in four games, but he is currently dealing with an injury and could miss Nigeria's upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
So Nigerians, we have to ask: If Orban is fit and cleared to play for Nigeria, should Chelle call him up? Some fans have been asking for his return for a while. Others will say scoring goals in Turkey is not enough to push Osimhen or the other Super Eagles strikers aside. But one thing is clear: Orban is making it very difficult for Chelle to ignore him. And with Nigeria's attack facing injury concerns, this could be the perfect opportunity to look at another striker.
What would you do if you were Chelle? Call up Gift Orban immediately Stick with the current squad Give Orban a chance but start him from the bench Orban should be competing with Osimhen, not replacing him Super Eagles fans, is Gift Orban finally ready for Nigeria?
