CNN, MS Now, and Politico are preparing a joint lawsuit against President Donald Trump after their reporters were banned from the White House and had their press credentials deactivated. The outlets say the move is a direct violation of First Amendment press freedoms. Trump announced the ban after accusing the organizations of spreading “fake news.” The next day, their journalists were denied entry and their badges disabled.
The media houses argue that the government cannot block access simply because it dislikes critical reporting, and they are heading to court to challenge what they describe as an attempt to silence independent journalism.
