I got MTN FlyX a few days ago here in Enugu State, and I've been test-running it since installation. Here are my results so far:
Plan: It came with the 100Mbps package, and yes, it’s fast in my location.
Dual Band: It has two bands (5GHz and 2.4GHz), though I use the 5GHz frequency mostly.
Download Speed: Varies between 80 Mbps and 115 Mbps (very surprising)
Upload Speed: Fluctuates between 25 Mbps and 50 Mbps (a bit disappointing but still fast)
Battery Backup: The included power bank lasts about 6 to 7 hours on a full charge. Disconnecting the wall charger once a day helps keep the battery in a healthy charge/discharge cycle.
Power Supply: My area in Enugu gets 24/7 power, so I rarely rely on the power bank. Credit to EEDC for that! 😘
So far, so good—I’ve used over 300 GB in 3 days as a gamer and crypto trader/merchant. MTN advertises FlyX as truly unlimited with no Fair Usage Policy (FUP), so I’ll try crossing 5 TB this month to see if throttling occurs. I currently view MTN FlyX as a solid contender against my Starlink setup, though further testing will reveal how it holds up long-term. My testing continues!
