NDC Supporters Storm Cross River Streets As Peter Obi’s 2027 Campaign Gathers Momentum
A lively political mobilisation has taken place in Cross River State, as supporters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) took to the streets in a colourful procession ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The footage, shared by social media user @Dedehydra, was captioned: “Cross River don wake up NDC all the way…. Peter Obi is coming.”
The video shows a large crowd moving along the streets with motorcycles, vehicles, flags and campaign banners. A red car decorated with campaign materials was also part of the procession, while participants waved NDC flags and carried banners bearing messages such as “Nta-Asele Ward,” “NDC” and “Service to the People.”
The mobilisation also featured participants with “NECUS 2027” branding, while a white vehicle carrying supporters moved along with the procession.
The activity comes amid ongoing grassroots mobilisation by the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement, which is campaigning in support of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 election. The movement recently inaugurated its Cross River State executives and unveiled a state secretariat in Calabar.
The OK Movement has also maintained that it is independently organised, even as the NDC has recently distanced itself from a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council announced by the movement.
The latest street mobilisation shows the ongoing political activities at the grassroots level in Cross River as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
