Nigerians benefiting from conditional cash transfer not on social media – Yilwatda
All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, has claimed that over 10 million Nigerians who benefited from the N75,000 conditional cash transfer programme, are not on social media. Yilwatda stated this on Saturday while answering questions from journalists shortly after a three-day retreat of the party’s National Executive Council in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
Yilwatda said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had executed projects, including road infrastructure and student loans, and engaged in numerous humanitarian activities, including the conditional cash transfer to vulnerable people from the gains of the fuel subsidy. He said, “We have given 75,000 naira to over 10 million Nigerians across the country using the conditional cash transfer under the ministry of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction.
“Mind you, these people who are poor and vulnerable don’t have telephone to make call, they are not on social media. They don’t have television. They can not come and challenge and discuss as we are doing here, but they are out there”. Speaking on the retreat, he said the NEC had made resolutions on key national issues.
