There are songs you can listen to for years without really understanding them.
You know the melody.
You know the lyrics.
You probably sang along when you were younger.
Then life happens.
You experience love differently. You lose someone. You make mistakes. You grow older.
And one day, that same song comes on and you suddenly think:
“Ah… so THIS is what they were talking about.”
😂
The funny thing is, the song didn’t change.
You did.
Maybe that’s why some songs become more meaningful as we get older. We finally have the experiences needed to understand words that once sounded ordinary.
There are songs I hear today that I understood completely differently five or ten years ago.
