Ahead of her 8th wedding anniversary tomorrow, Nollywood actress Bimbo Afolayan is reminiscing about her wedding day to her husband, Okiki Afolayan. Sharing a throwback video of her wedding preparations, she noted that it has been 8 years since her dream wedding. She said it was the best decision she has made, and her heart is filled with gratitude as she looks back at her wedding photos.
Bimbo said she is happy, loved, at peace, and, most importantly, grateful to build a life with her husband. She expressed gratitude for making him happy and for his continued support as he walks this journey with her. She said they have built their little family, created memories, experienced different seasons, grown individually and together, and started building an empire of their own. “8yrs ago Tomorrow makes it 8 whole years since I walked down the aisle and married the man my heart desired.
Eight years since my dream wedding. Eight years since I said “I do” to my best decision till this very moment. And honestly… the nostalgia! I look back at that young bride, at that beautiful day, at all the dreams and expectations we had, and my heart is filled with so much gratitude. Because somehow, through every season, God has been faithful to us. I am happy. I am loved. I am at peace.
And most importantly, I am grateful. I am grateful to build a life with my husband, @okikiafolayan. I am grateful that I get to make him happy, and that he continues to choose me, love me, support me and walk this journey with me every single day. In these 8 years, we have built our little family, created memories, experienced different seasons, grown individually and together, and started building an empire that is ours.

And that is one of the most beautiful things about our marriage: we are not done. On their 7th anniversary last year, she noted how their love started as a gist when they decided to grow old together, nurturing everything they’ve built. She described Okiki as the man God had handpicked for her, revealing the promise he had made to her during their courtship.
While counting down to their anniversary, Bimbo thanked her husband for the peace of mind he gives her, which money can’t buy. Calling him her Majani chocolate, she affirmed her love for him and revealed that she was in her feelings. On her husband’s 40th birthday in February, last year, Bimbo wrote a sweet letter to him, stating that she was drunk in her husband’s love and spoke about how lucky she was to be married to him.
The Yoruba actress stated that her husband still makes her heart skip every time, and she promised to continue loving him. Reciprocating the love on her birthday, Okiki had expressed his honour to be a part of her life. He praised her for her good heart and revealed how his wife had changed him. The filmmaker affirmed his love for her and expressed excitement for their future.
While celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary in 2023, Okiki professed his love for his wife as he reflected on how he made the best decision by marrying her. He stated that every day with her has been a roller coaster ride, as she has been the most important part of his life.
