Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite has shared a clear take on how views about older women and dating have changed. She said society used to push the idea that once a woman reached a certain age, she should quietly step away from the dating scene, and that mindset made many women feel their time for love and partnership had passed. She says that things have shifted and the tables have turned and that the older woman who was once overlooked has now become the premium package.
She explained that younger men are boldly approaching women in their late thirties and early forties, and that a man can walk up to a thirty eight, forty or forty two year old woman, state his interest clearly and stand by it without shaking. She says that the confidence is what stands out. Damilola linked the change to a Bible verse, Psalm 118 verse 22, about the stone the builders rejected becoming the cornerstone.
In her view, the same idea now applies to older women in today’s dating world. Damilola Adegbite 41 is known for her role in Tinsel and other projects. She was married to actor Chris Attoh and they share a son.
