100-day countdown: INEC to unveil 2027 election preparations

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to hold a world press conference and national stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday, to mark 100 days to the 2027 General Election. It will provide an opportunity for the commission to give updates on its preparations for the polls, including the voters’ register, candidate nominations, logistics and measures being put in place to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the INEC Chairman, Adedayo Oketola, the commission said the event would also provide a platform for engagement with major stakeholders in the electoral process. “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will hold a World Press Conference and National Stakeholders’ Meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, to mark 100 days to the 2027 General Election.
