My Children Learn Better From Me Than From Their School Teachers" – Is This A Pr
Fellow Nairalanders,
I want to share something personal that has changed my perspective on education and parenting.
It has become my duty to teach my children.
Every day, my children – who are in Nursery and Primary school – come home with homework in their books. And every day, I am the one who teaches them. Almost every single day, they return with two homework assignments, sometimes even three.
This responsibility has given me the confidence to become a better teacher. I've grown. I've learned. And I've discovered something surprising:
My children seem to understand me better than they understand their professional school teachers. They prefer when I teach them at home.
I don't know if this is because I'm their father, because I'm patient with them, or because I explain things in a way that makes sense to them. But it's working.
I'm open to any additional confidence, advice, or guidance you can offer.
If you're a parent who teaches your children at home, share your experience. If you're a teacher, I'd love to hear your perspective. If you're just here to learn, welcome.
