With the creation of the Rainbow Coalition by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, which is a cross-party political alliance aimed primarily to mobilize support for president Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate in the forthcoming general elections, without abandoning its ambition to contest the Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives, or State Assembly elections. This appears to have unsettled the party both at the States and other levels.
The APC can now be likened to the popular female dress, "Skirt and blouse", because the party now has a common goal at the top but divided at the bottom. This also means the Rainbow Coalition doesn't support the APC from top to bottom.
It has created a big division in the party, particular among the APC governors and Senators, who are accusing Wike of causing commotion in the party.
Personally, I see this as greed on the part of president Tinubu. Why would you welcome an alliance that will work for you to become president, but will work against the party at other levels? This isn't fair at all!
