Seneca: Your Life Is Not Short, You Are Spending It

Seneca wrote that we are not given a short life — we make one. The time is there. It leaks.

An hour goes to a feed you will not remember by evening. A day goes to an argument you did not need to enter. A year goes to waiting for a person, a job, a government to change something you could have started yourself.

Nobody here would hand a stranger their money. Everybody hands out their days.

Guard the hours like coins, and spend them on something you would defend.
