*OVERCOMING SELF-SABOTAGE*
*2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)* _“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”_
*Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)* _“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”_
One of the greatest obstacles to success and greatness is not always external opposition but internal limitation. Many people spend their lives blaming circumstances, other people, or unfavorable conditions for their lack of progress, yet the real battle is often within. Fear, doubt, insecurity, and negative thinking have prevented more people from fulfilling their potential than any external force. These are forms of self-sabotage that quietly undermine progress and keep people from stepping into the future God has prepared for them.
Fear is especially dangerous because it affects the way a person thinks, decides, and acts. A fearful person is constantly worried about what might go wrong, what tomorrow may bring, or what people may think. Instead of moving forward in faith, they remain trapped in analysis, hesitation, and uncertainty. Yet God did not create us to be governed by fear. He has given us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Greatness requires courage—the willingness to move forward despite uncertainty, trusting that God will guide and strengthen us along the way.
The truth is that many opportunities are lost not because God failed to provide them, but because fear prevented people from embracing them. Faith opens doors, while fear closes them. When we choose to trust God instead of entertaining fearful thoughts, we position ourselves for growth, progress, and divine fulfillment. Refuse to become your own obstacle. Allow God's Word to shape your thinking and let courage replace fear.
*Reflections:* 1. Do I allow fear of the unknown to influence my decisions?
- In what areas have I been holding back because of doubt or insecurity?
- Do I trust God enough to move forward in faith despite uncertainty?
*Key Takeaways:* 1. Self-sabotage often begins with fear and negative thinking.
- God has given believers power, love, and a sound mind.
- Courage and faith are essential for fulfilling God's purpose.
*Prayer:* Father, deliver me from every form of fear, doubt, and self-sabotage. Help me to trust You completely and to walk boldly in the purpose You have prepared for me. Strengthen my mind with Your Word and fill my heart with courage. Let faith govern my decisions and actions so that I may fulfill my destiny and bring glory to Your name. Amen.
*Declaration:* I refuse to be limited by fear or doubt. God has given me power, love, and a sound mind. I walk in courage, confidence, and faith. I will not sabotage my future through negative thinking, but I will embrace God's promises and move forward into greatness. Amen.
