“We welcome strategic partnerships that can equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and competencies required for the evolving world of work,” the minister said. Ahmad also highlighted the six priority areas of the National Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), including TVET and skills development, STEMM, out-of-school and Almajiri education, girl-child education, data and digitalisation, and education quality assurance.
The Director of Technology and Science Education, Mrs Patricia Ogungbemi, said the government was expanding practical and industry-relevant skills training through technical colleges and vocational training centres. She noted that the ministry was also developing vocational pathways, including the Master Six and Master Twelve programmes, to provide young people with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
Other initiatives highlighted by the ministry included the Student Venture Capital Grant, LUMINAH 2030, EduRevamp and the Accelerated Teacher Professional Pathway.
