Antoine Griezmann (born 21 March 1991) is a French footballer who plays as a forward or attacking midfielder for Atltico Madrid in La Liga. He is set to join Orlando City in Major League Soccer on 13 July 2026. Widely regarded as one of the top players of his generation, Griezmann is known for his versatility, intelligence on the field, attacking skills, and movement without the ball.
Griezmann started his senior career with Real Sociedad in 2009, after coming up through their youth system, and helped the team win the Segunda Divisin in his first season. In 2014, he moved to Atltico Madrid for a club record 30 million. In his second season, he was named La Liga Best Player and played a key role in Atltico reaching the UEFA Champions League final. He also finished third for both the Ballon dOr and Best FIFA Mens Player awards.
Two years later, he won the UEFA Europa League and was named Player of the Season. In 2019, after much speculation, he left Atltico for Barcelona in a 120 million transfer, making him one of the most expensive players ever. He won his first major domestic title, the Copa del Rey, in 2021, but his form declined. Before the 20212022 season, he returned to Atltico and became their all-time top goalscorer in early 2024.
