Add as a preferred source A mini-truck driver in Ekiti State, Adeleye Adeniyi, has said he borrowed N3.5m to back the 2027 re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba. Adeniyi, an Ado-Ekiti native who is popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO”, made the disclosure in an interview with journalists that began circulating on Friday.
In the interview, he displayed a Wema Bank cardboard cheque showing how the money was shared: N2m for Tinubu, N1m for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba. He said the politicians’ performance in office motivated the gesture. “I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.
Adeniyi also said he was ready to take the campaign to the field, with a song as part of his message. “Like I said again, I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand.” He urged Nigerians to vote for Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba in the forthcoming elections, saying he believed the President would deliver more benefits if re-elected.
“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” he said. The driver also commended Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as their contributions to healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure in the state.
Addressing the Senate Leader directly, he said, “Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, this man, I pray that we are still going to higher places. Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on, you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.
