WHAT WILL MAKE 3 YORUBA MEN KILL AN IGBO MAN FAMILY IN OYO STATE? WHAT KIND OF HATRED IS THAT?
Igbos and Yorubas, if we want Nigeria to be good, we need to sit down and ask ourselves, what are we really fighting for?
Three Yoruba men from Oloba Village Ibadan - Hammed Akinbami, Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward - entered the house of Ifeanyi Chukwu, an Igbo man living with his wife and four children. They robbed him of N200k, motorcycle and farm machine, then shot the man, broke the wife head, tied the four small children and threw the entire family inside river. Oyo Police arrested them October 6th.
What kind of hatred is that? What kind of wickedness will make you tie a child and throw him inside river?
I will not generalize because we have millions of Yorubas who are good, God-fearing people who will never do this. We also have Igbos who have done evil to Yorubas and to their own brothers. Evil is in every tribe.
But this killing is the final result of the stupid fight we are fighting.
What are we fighting for? Is it land? None of us created the land. Is it market? Customers buy from who they like. Is it election? Politicians you are fighting for are eating together, their children are schooling together in London and America. Tinubu Yoruba, Shettima Kanuri, Akpabio Ibibio, they share billions together, they don't ask tribe. It is only we the poor that are fighting.
What is our main problem that makes us fight to the level of killing each other? Our main problem is not Igbo and our main problem is not Yoruba.
Our main problem is bad leadership that has kept us poor. Our main problem is joblessness that makes N200k look like big money to kill 6 people for. Our main problem is illiteracy and wrong upbringing that makes a man think killing his neighbor because he is from another tribe will make him a hero. Our main problem is that we have refused to condemn evil when it is our brother that does it.
When an Igbo man does evil, some Igbos will defend him. When a Yoruba man does evil, some Yorubas will defend him. That defense is what gives criminals confidence to kill again.
If we continue like this, this country will never be good. Today it is an Igbo family killed in Oyo. Tomorrow it will be a Yoruba family killed in another state. And we will all be posting RIP while the killers are walking free.
These three men must face maximum punishment. Justice must be done for Ifeanyi Chukwu family.
But we must also kill tribalism in our heart. That is the main killer.
I'M NOT TRYING TO BE TRIBALISTIC, WHEN IGBO DO I WILL CRITICIZE THEM, WHEN YORUBA DO I WILL CRITICIZE THEM, I'M ONLY STATING THE FACTS AND THAT'S WHY I'M HERE. THIS IS WICKEDNESS AND IT'S KILLING NIGERIA.
