Stella Maris Okafor, the wife of late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu, is celebrating him on his 64th posthumous birthday. Sharing a video of her and the kids on her social media page, she expressed how much she misses him. She said that even though life is going on without him, it will never be the same, and she would do it again with him. The widow said every time she looks at the stars, she knows that’s where he will be.
She said she is still feeling pain over his death, and the love he left inside her heart will never go away. “My husband, On your posthumous birthday. Every time I look at the stars, I know that’s where you’ll be. Shining like you always do. And watching over them and me. Although the pain I’m feeling is with me every day. The love you left inside my heart will never go away. Life goes on without you, but it will never be the same, and if I had my time once more, I’d do it all again.
We may not be able to spend time together anymore, but I want you to know you are always on my mind. Lots of love and hugs from here on Earth. Happy Birthday. In June, Stella and her kids, while speaking to influencer King Mitchy, lamented their plight, revealing that they now fetch water from a well because she hasn’t been able to pay their house rent. She said their light has been cut off for two months, and they have to rely on others to charge their phones.
Countering her, Mr Ibu’s son disclosed that their late father left many properties to all his children, but Stella chose to take everything for herself and her own children. He claimed that she sold one of Mr Ibu’s houses in Lagos for N60 million, another property in Lagos for over N17 million, and also sold the one in Asaba for N11 million. He further claimed that she squandered over N66 million that the public had contributed during Ibu’s illness.
Responding to his claims, Stella, in a follow-up interview with King Mitchy, denied his allegations. She stated that before she sold his property in the village, she consulted with the late actor’s other children, and that the proceeds from the sale of the land, were used to foot the bill for his funeral. She added that throughout her marriage to the late actor, he never disclosed that he had been previously married or that he had fathered children with other women.
Giving an update on their financial situation, King Mitchy disclosed that well-meaning Nigerians had contributed a total of N7.6 million towards their upkeep. Recall that in March, 2024, the veteran actor, who had battled for his life for months, had kicked the bucket. The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, revealed he died of Cardiac Arrest. On Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, a night of tribute was held for the late actor, which had in attendance many of his colleagues. On June 27th, the veteran actor was buried in his hometown of Enugu State.
