Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has kept her promise and gone above and beyond for her son’s 7th birthday. Sharing a video from the ongoing party, she said God has been faithful, and her heart is overflowing with gratitude. Not done, Toriola erected a billboard for him in Lagos. On his birthday eve, she recalled the promise she made to her son when he turned five and how she couldn’t fulfil the vow because she was filming her first cinema movie. She said she postponed the promise until his 7th birthday and would now keep it. For his 6th birthday, Toriola, described him as her ‘little man,’ the controversial actress promised to be the best mum for him, and made him know that she and his dad love him.
Last year, Wumi was a proud mother as her son graduated from preschool. Toriola expressed gratitude to her mini-me for being so amazing, attentive, full of wisdom, compassionate and loving. She stated that how she manages to blend being an amazing mother and holding onto a career that’s really demanding is the Grace of God and her son. The filmmaker lamented over her son’s demand, saying he wanted a house with an elevator.
Questioning how she could explain to him that work wasn’t about money, she asked who could make ‘janglover’ in her living room. Recall that in 2023, Wumi announced her separation from her husband and the father of her son. She revealed she walked away from a domestic violent and abusive relationship for her sanity’s sake. Her ex-husband, on his part, claimed that their marriage was filled with violence, deceit, and betrayal on Wumi Toriola’s part.
Describing his marriage as a total regret, he further alleged that Wumi physically assaulted his mother, a claim which the actress debunked and slammed her ex for.
