I was hoping people on Nairaland can help me figure out what this surname means and its origin. Thanks!

When the Hausa guys came on Wednesday they said some of the rice already eaten by the birds was not worth harvesting.

Omo, it really pained me. Apart from catapults and making noise, are there other effective ways of scaring birds away? Scarecrows don't really work because the birds get used to them. Anyone with experience in rice farming, especially Ofada, please advise. (Replies suggest netting, drones and learning from experienced growers.)
