Fellow Nairalanders, I come bearing a story that might make you laugh, shake your head, or even drag me. So here goes: my little baby was born on 12th May 2026. She's now at that stage where we're trying to teach her how to sit up on her own. Now, instead of buying one of those expensive baby sitters or chairs, my family decided to go the "creative" route. We got a carton of Indomie noodles - you know, the big one - and we put her inside it.
Just like a little nest! Why we did it: the carton provides support around her back and sides, it keeps her from falling over, and from my own understanding, she actually enjoys sitting in it! She smiles, plays with her toys, and doesn't cry to come out. So far, it's working - but I know Nairalanders will have plenty to say! Now, over to you: Is this a smart (cost-saving) idea or is it straight-up "village people" parenting?
Has anyone else done something similar? Could this be harmful to her spine or development? Criticisms are 100% allowed - I'm ready for the roasts, the advice, and everything in between. Just be honest!
