All the idols, oracles, ancestral, generational and spirit mediums that work through them - what exactly are their origins? Some traditional worshipers say they believe in Olodumare, which is believed to be the same as Almighty God, and they get to Him through those Orishas. According to the Bible (Revelation 12:7-9), it is narrated that there was a war in heaven: Angel Michael defeated the Dragon - Lucifer, the Devil - and chased him and his loyalist angels to this earth.
Some fell into the river, some into the forest, some took abode in the trees, some in the air. Another narrative: "When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose... The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them.
These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown" (Genesis 6:1-4) - how the Great Flood destroyed the Nephilim and their spirits are wandering on the earth. We heard stories of how our great-great fathers, mostly hunters, had encounters with spirits in the forest, had agreements with them and began to worship them. We have heard of powerful men possessed with spirits many years ago who later disappeared or turned into something that is being worshiped today - like the man called Ogun who later became the god of iron, still being worshiped till today; Sango, god of thunder and lightning, still worshiped till today; the Osun River in Oshogbo was learnt to be a woman before she turned to a river; Obatala; the mermaid (Yemoja), believed to be one of the demonic angels that took abode underneath the water; witchcraft spirits; Ifa; jinns - there are so many in different countries.
Most homes and lineages had at least one deity, idol or oracle they worshiped before the advent of Christianity or Islam. I saw with my eyes one evangelist who said he had the divine grace to start destroying shrines - there is one particular ancient shrine in my area he went into with the aim to destroy it; bros and sis, this guy became mad instantly. Even though these traditional/idol/oracle worshipers insist that it is Almighty God that sent idols as messengers, or that they are messengers of God like we have Moses - in my own opinion I do not think so.
Are these idols and oracles - those that were human beings before, who later turned to rivers, staffs etc. - not the fallen angels, demons? Are these not rebellious spirits, Lucifer loyalists, no matter how their operations and benefits are to humans? Almighty God says thou shall not worship another God except Me.
