2027 Hajj: Ogun Pilgrims Board Seeks Imams' Support For Early Registration

The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced engagement with the League of Imams and Alfas in the Remo Zone as part of preparations for registration of intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj. The engagement, aimed at strengthening collaboration with Islamic leaders, is designed to prepare Imams and Alfas for a sensitization campaign in mosques across the zone, focusing on the 2027 registration process, pilgrimage preparations and the need for timely, accurate information from the appropriate authorities.

Executive Secretary of the Board Mr Ajibola Taiwo described the League as critical stakeholders whose early involvement would help ensure intending pilgrims receive accurate information and register on time. Responding, the League's President-General Sheikh Jinadu commended the Board for engaging the Islamic leadership, applauded the state government for the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj - particularly the airlift of pilgrims through Gateway International Airport, Iperu - and assured the Board of continued support and cooperation of Imams and Alfas across the state toward a successful 2027 Hajj registration and sensitization exercise.
