For study permit applications submitted from September 1, 2026, students planning to study in any Canadian province or territory except Quebec must show C$23,448 for one person for one year, excluding tuition and transportation. The amount rises with the number of accompanying family members: one person C$23,448; two people C$29,192; three C$35,888; four C$43,572; five C$49,419; six C$55,736; seven C$62,054; each additional family member C$6,318.

For example, a student travelling with two family members will need to demonstrate C$35,888 to cover living expenses for one year, plus tuition and transportation. What applicants need to prove: applicants must provide documents showing the required funds are available and demonstrate enough financial resources for the first year of study; students in programmes longer than one year must also explain how they intend to finance the full duration (e.g., evidence of a longer scholarship or proof a parent is employed).

Acceptable proof of funds includes tuition and housing payment receipts, student or education loans, scholarships, employment pay slips, letters from financial sponsors, Canadian bank accounts, guaranteed investment certificates and bank statements covering the previous six months. Applicants whose countries have foreign exchange controls must also demonstrate they are permitted to transfer funds out to cover expenses in Canada.

Sources say Apple is reshuffling its workforce to focus more on next-generation AI projects and upcoming devices - moving resources away from some existing projects and investing more heavily in artificial intelligence. Apple confirmed the layoffs to Bloomberg, saying it is working to 'evolve its business to deliver the best experiences for users', and while some roles are being removed, new positions will be created.

The move comes as Apple races to strengthen its position in the AI space amid growing competition, rising memory/computing costs, recent price increases on some Macs and iPads, a new hardware leasing program, and a legal battle with OpenAI over alleged trade theft.

He holds it in trust. What you and I actually get when we "buy" land is called a Right of Occupancy — basically permission to occupy and use the land, usually for 99 years.

Not outright ownership like most of us assume. This is why documents like Certificate of Occupancy and Governor's Consent matter so much.

A lot of buyers focus only on getting a C of O and stop there, not knowing that even a real C of O still needs proper consent for it to be fully valid when transferred from one person to another. I won't lie, when I first learned this, it changed how I look at every land transaction — because "I paid for it" and "I legally hold it" are not always the same thing in this country.

Has anyone here had an issue with their C of O or Governor's Consent before? I'd like to hear real experiences, this one dey worry me small.
